A mosaic of the StarApple Icon transformed using 12 Art Styles; generated from works such as Vincent Van Gogh’s Irises, Lee Ungno’s Chestnut tree and Jean-Michel Basquiat’s Man from Naples. The submission was developed using Google’s algorithmic model powering the Art Transfer feature in the Google Arts & Culture app.
Neural style transfer (An optimization technique used to blend together two images; a content image and a style reference image to get one output image) was used to generate this piece. The content image was a photo of StarApples and the style image was our StarApple logo
This piece used a convolutional neural network to over-interpret and enhance patterns in an image, in this case, the model tried really hard to find our logo in an image of persons meditating.
